Awesome Contacts (“we”, “us”, “our”) is an AI relationship intelligence platform operated by Henry Reith (ABN TBC), based in Queensland, Australia. We help professionals manage and strengthen their networks through contact management and AI-powered recommendations.

2. Information We Collect
Information you provide directly:
- Account details: name, email address, password (hashed)
- Contact data you import or enter: names, email addresses, phone numbers, job titles, companies, notes, and custom fields
- Content you submit to the Serendipity Engine: URLs, articles, ideas, and messages
- Billing information processed securely by Stripe (we do not store card numbers)
Information collected automatically:
- Usage data: pages visited, features used, and actions taken within the app
- Device and browser information: IP address, browser type, operating system
- Error and performance data via Sentry
Information from third-party integrations:
- When you connect Gmail or Office 365: email metadata (senders, dates, subject lines) to enrich interaction history. We do not read the body of your emails without your explicit action.
- When you connect Google Calendar: event titles and attendees to surface relationship context
- When you connect LinkedIn: profile data you explicitly authorise via OAuth
3. How We Use Your Information
- Providing the Awesome Contacts service, including the Serendipity Engine and contact management features
- Generating AI-powered recommendations based on your network and submitted content
- Sending product updates, digest emails, and important account notices (you can unsubscribe from marketing at any time)
- Improving the product through aggregated, anonymised usage analysis
- Detecting and preventing fraud, abuse, and security incidents
- Complying with our legal obligations
4. AI & Your Data
We use AI models (Anthropic Claude, Qwen3) to power the Serendipity Engine. Here is exactly how your data interacts with AI:
- Your contact data and submitted content are processed in real-time to generate recommendations
- We use OpenRouter as an API gateway — your data is passed to AI providers only for inference, not for training
- Your data is never used to train AI models — not by us, and not by our AI providers under the agreements we hold
- AI-generated message drafts are suggestions only. You review and approve everything before it is sent
- Your network is yours. We do not aggregate or share your contact data with other users or third parties for any purpose other than operating the service
5. Cookies & Tracking
We use a small number of cookies and similar technologies:
- Essential cookies: Required for authentication and session management. Cannot be disabled.
- Analytics cookies: We use privacy-respecting analytics (no cross-site tracking, no personal profiling) to understand how the product is used in aggregate.
- Preference cookies: Store your in-app settings between sessions.
We do not use advertising cookies, retargeting pixels, or third-party tracking scripts that share your data with advertisers.
6. Data Sharing & Third Parties
We share data only where necessary to operate the service:
- Supabase: Database hosting and authentication. Your data is stored on Supabase-managed PostgreSQL infrastructure.
- Vercel: Application hosting and edge delivery.
- Stripe: Payment processing. We share only what Stripe needs to process your subscription.
- OpenRouter / Anthropic / Qwen: AI inference only. Data is processed transiently and not retained by these providers.
- Sentry: Error monitoring. Error reports may include limited session context but are anonymised where possible.
We do not sell your data. We do not share your contact data with advertisers, data brokers, or other Awesome Contacts users.
7. Data Storage & Security
Your data is stored on Supabase (PostgreSQL) with AES-256 encryption at rest and TLS 1.3 encryption in transit. Row-level security (RLS) ensures your data is only accessible to your own account. Our team has limited, logged access to production systems. See our Security page for full details.
8. International Data Transfers
Awesome Contacts is operated from Australia. Our infrastructure providers (Supabase, Vercel) may store and process your data in the United States or other jurisdictions. Where data is transferred outside your country, we rely on contractual protections (such as Standard Contractual Clauses where applicable) to ensure it remains protected to an equivalent standard.
9. Data Retention & Deletion
We retain your data for as long as your account is active. You can delete your account and all associated data at any time from your account settings. We will permanently delete your data within 30 days of a deletion request, except where we are required by law to retain certain records. Billing records may be retained for up to 7 years for accounting compliance.
10. Your Rights
Depending on your location, you may have the following rights over your data:
- Access: Request a copy of the data we hold about you
- Correction: Ask us to correct inaccurate or incomplete data
- Deletion: Request deletion of your data (right to be forgotten)
- Portability: Receive your data in a machine-readable format
- Objection: Object to certain uses of your data
- Restriction: Request that we limit how we process your data

11. Children's Privacy
Awesome Contacts is not intended for use by anyone under the age of 16. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided us with data, contact us and we will delete it promptly.

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the “Last updated” date above and notify active users by email for material changes. Continued use of the service after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
